Arifur Shohel considers himself an 'orphan' now that his father, Abul Bashar, passed away last December. Still, he has nothing but high praise for the excellent care his father received from The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) over the years.

 

He felt compelled to write a letter of praise to the hospital for the care his father received in his last days, when Mr. Bashar was rushed to the Emergency Department on December 2, 2013, and then transferred to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), where he passed away on December 21.

Nurallah Rahim, Patient Care Director of Surgical Services, Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) received a very special opportunity to assist a teaching hospital in Pakistan with their surgical program.   

 

On January 31, Nurallah headed out to the Aga Khan University Hospital in Pakistan where he will conduct a surgical audit of the 599 bed facility. Established in 1985, it is the first hospital in Pakistan. It provides high quality care to more than 50,000 inpatients and approximately 600,000 outpatients per year. Services include Medical (including Cardiac), Surgical, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Oncology.
