Hospital Boards to make recommendation on a merger review

The Scarborough Hospital and Rouge Valley Health System publicly released a report on Friday, November 8 on the benefits and risks of a possible merger of the two hospital corporations. The report is based on the findings from 15 working groups of clinical, administrative and medical staff from both hospital corporations and from an extensive community engagement process. The report can be found on the Leading for Patients website at www.leadingforpatients.ca.   

 

On Tuesday, November 12, the Boards of Directors of Rouge Valley Health System and The Scarborough Hospital will make their recommendations on the report at their respective public board meetings.  


On Thursday, November 14, The Scarborough Hospital Foundation will officially launch its second annual Scarborough World Gala. Its goal is to raise $2 million to support The Scarborough Hospital's Cancer Care program.  

 

The Gala will be held on May 10, 2014 and will honour Dr. Dhun Noria, Chief of Laboratory Medicine and Medical Director of Laboratories at The Scarborough Hospital, with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
