Message from the JRMS PTA
Please join us next Thursday February 5 at 9:15 am in the JRMS Community Room for the February PTA meeting. Our guest speaker will be Tom McMorran, JBHS Principal, "We are in your future and your future is a wonderful place!"

Your membership in the PTA really does make a difference! The PTA is proud to have provided $5,000 for the purchase of hundreds of copies of Wonder. The school-wide read launched last week!

Thank you to Ritu Duenwald and Lynn Dudas for running the 8th grade Snowball Dance! Ritu and Lynn had an amazing team of parent volunteers to help transform the gym into a winter wonderland. It was a great night for the 8th graders!

Message from the Assistant Principal
On Thursday, January 22, all JRMS students participated in the kick-off assembly for the school-wide read of Wonder.

The conversations revolved around the reasons for choosing this book, the important themes that are present in Wonder, and the value of re-reading a book. 

Each group of students was receptive, appropriate and engaged in the discussions. The themes of celebrating differences and sharing kindness were considered and depicted in a video made by the JRMS School Climate Committee. Upon leaving the assembly, students were asked to consider a way that they could share a kindness with someone today and they wrote their answers on strips of paper. These can be seen on display in the Community Room under the title "Have you had a kindness shown? Pass it on."

 
Parenting in the Digital Age - March 5
Please join the JRMS PTA on Thursday March 5th @ 7:30 pm in the Community Room as we present Rich Colangelo to speak on Parenting in the Digital Age.

 

Mr. Colangelo is a Senior Assistant State's Attorney with 23 years of experience in the criminal justice division.  He has prosecuted child exploitation cases and is responsible for starting the technical investigations unit in his jurisdiction.  He will discuss things that our kids do now online that might effect them in the future.  Mr. Colangelo is also an Easton parent and the President of the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Redding-Easton.

 

Light refreshments served and a time for questions will follow.

 
Park & Rec Winter Activities
The Redding Park & Rec department has many fun programs, activities and outings available for middle schoolers this winter session. Click here to view the schedule and sign-up.
Easton Redding United Spring Soccer
Soccer registration opens January 15th!
Development programs at U8 level.
U9+ have Travel Soccer with professional coaches.
Season runs from April - June.
