Chaska Turkey Trot
November 9
Chaska, MN

Join us for a fun family event on the second Saturday in November at the Chaska Turkey Trot 5k Race.  Runners, walkers, and local residents gather at the Chaska High School to raise money for two worthy organizations.  The Chaska DECA Club and the Chaska ROTARY Club join forces to bring a great event to all.  Registration is online here.

DECA funding allows our best and brightest students to compete at regional, state, and national competitions on business development.  Chaska DECA has a long and successful record of qualifying, competing, and winning at national events.  Chaska DECA designates a portion of their proceeds to their chosen charity for the year, Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

The Chaska ROTARY Club has been a force for good in Eastern Carver County for more than 45 years.  All proceeds from the race are invested back into service projects.
Chaska ROTARY raises money to fund fresh water projects worldwide, hosts exchange students locally as well as sending students abroad, provides funding for several local community projects, and offers scholarships to well-deserving students within the community.  Proceeds from the race are also raised for the ROTARY International END POLIO NOW Challenge Grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Iris Turkey Trot
November 28
Faribault, MN

This November 28th, the 5th Annual IRIS Turkey Trot will take place in Faribault, MN with all proceeds benefiting Infants Remembered in Silence (IRIS). The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the support and advocacy services provided by IRIS to those who have lost a child, and raise much needed funds to support this nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that is funded 100-percent through donations and memorials. We have raised nearly $150,000 over the last 4 years with the generous support of businesses like yours, and in total -attendance has grown to over 1,600 people participating on Thanksgiving morning! This year, with your help we hope to grow the event even more and raise more funds to support this important organization and the work that IRIS does.

To help you understand why supporting this event is so worthy:

  • IRIS was founded in 1987. Today IRIS is dedicated to offering support, education and resources on the death of a child in early pregnancy (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, etc), or from premature birth, stillbirth, neo-natal death, birth defects, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), accident, illness and all other types of infant and early childhood death.

We hope that no one has to experience the loss of a child - but the reality is that it happens. Fortunately, IRIS is here to help. Thank you for your generosity and consideration. For more information about IRIS and to register for the Turkey Trot, please visit the IRIS website at  www.irisRemembers.org

       1/4 cup chopped cilantro

       3 tablespoons lime juice

1 or 2 jalapeos, stemmed, seeded and finely chopped

Pearson's Pearson Candy Company was founded in 1909 by P. Edward Pearson with the assistance of his two brothers John Albert and Oscar F. Pearson. A few years later, two more brothers Waldemar and C. Fritz joined the Minneapolis-based company, which began as a candy distribution firm, doing a little bit of manufacturing on the side.  The Nut Goodie Bar, one of the company's first manufactured products, made its debut in 1912 as a premium 5-cent candy bar, and was met with much success. Pearson's Salted Nut Roll was introduced in 1933 at the height of the depression.

pearson's candy In August 2011, Pearson's was acquired by Brynwood Partners VI, L.P. located in Greenwich, CT.  As we celebrate our first 100 years, we not only reflect on our rich history, but lay the foundation for a strong future. We are honored to continue a tradition started by the Pearson brothers and take pride in the fact that our candies have brought enjoyment to so many generations!  Pearson's candy will be sampling at Anderson Race Management events this year season. We thank Pearson's for their tenth year of support to our active runners.
