On Saturday, October 3 from 10:30 to 11:15 join us for a discussion led by Kay Wedel titled "Enjoy a Bold, Beautiful Spring with Bulbs." Learn about the unusual spring blooming bulbs, which ones are critter resistant, which ones to plant if you want continuous blooms all spring and more! It's easy - just dig, drop and you're done! After the seminar take a look through the thousands of bulbs on display just waiting for a good winter home.

Macro Flower Also on Saturday, October 3 from 12:30 to 2:30 you have the opportunity dust off your camera and have some fun learning about macro photography as part of the Kalamazoo Photo Walk series. No experience is necessary and any type of camera will work; camera phone, point-and-click, DSLR, film camera. If you are a seasoned photographer, newbie or someone wanting to start shooting photos again after a long hiatus from photography you'll enjoy this installment of Kalamazoo Photo Walk at Wedel's! Click here for more details.

Oregano If you enjoy growing herbs, preserving herbs and cooking with herbs this seminar is for you. Besides being indispensable in the kitchen, these plants are good for you! Come by on October 17 for a seminar called, "Harvesting Herbs for Winter Usage" or "I grew these herbs...now how do I use them?" Dawn Farrell will give you all the information you need as well as samples of recipes using herbs such as Holiday Potato Gratin and Herbed Cream Cheese Cracker Spread. The holiday season is swiftly approaching. Have something new and delicious for your family and friends!

Fairy Garden One hobby that so many are finding to be a way to be creative and practical (think gifts) is miniature gardening. Mark your calendar and be sure to be at Wedel's on October 24 from 10:30 until ??? for this very popular workshop, "BIG Fun with Miniature Gardening." Learn the tips that make a successful miniature garden during the first 30 minutes of this event. The talk will cover which plants are most durable for miniature gardens, how to structure miniature gardens and what types of containers work best. Next, create a customized mini garden with the help of our expert, Rosemary Kuivenhoven, Certified Green Industry Professional, to take home and enjoy or give as a gift. The seminar is free; price of the garden depends on the items you choose for your creation.
