Pollinator Party

Pollinators are responsible for one out of every three bites of food we take each day and yet pollinators are at a critical point in their own survival. Wedel's is offering three free seminars covering steps you can take to help ensure their survival. There are so many ways you can help and even if you choose to do only a few you will be contributing in a huge way.

The Wedel's fun and interesting Pollinator Party (encouraging bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinator birds to thrive) will have something of interest for everyone - Mom, Dad and the kids. The presentations will be at Wedel's Garden Center on Saturday, June 27 which is this coming Saturday so call soon, (269) 345-1195, to sign up for one, two or all three!

Roger Taylor, Bill Stovall and Kay Wedel will be here to answer your questions about hummingbirds and how to attract Monarchs and other butterflies to your gardens. I'm sure you're familiar with Roger, Bill and Kay and have probably attended at least one of their seminars during a Wedel's Spring Expo. Their seminars for this Saturday are brand new though and are ones you won't want to miss.

Someone you might not yet be familiar with is Charlotte Hubbard. Charlotte is a beekeeper, educator and enthusiast who has a passion for doing all she can to protect bees and to see to it that they thrive to continue doing the hugely important work they do as pollinators. As noted on her website, "Since unexpectedly becoming a beekeeper in 2008, Charlotte has fallen head-over-hive with this intelligent insect." Here is the link to Charlotte's site.
