Running the Rims Brings In Hundreds of Barrel Racers October 13, 2015.
Billings, MT--Barrel racers haul to Billings, for the NILE Running the Rims Oct. 13 beginning at 4 p.m.

Billings is known for its geologic formation the rims, and Montana is known for its cowboy culture. The two converge for the NILE's Running the Rims Barrel Race. With the rocks towering in the background and the best cowgirls in the region, this event showcases two treasures of the region.

In 2014, the inaugural year of this event, had approximately 170 entries. This year the number of entries is expected to be 200 or more.

The NILE Gold Buckle Select Barrel Futurity will also be run this night, instead of Thursday with the other horse futurities. This gives exhibitors a chance to get more bang for their buck.

The winners of each division receive a trophy jacket. Barrel race sponsored by Copper Spring Ranch and produced by It's all about U Barrel Racing Championship (UBRC).

Exhibition runs are 12-3 p.m. the barrel race starts at 4 p.m. in Rimrock Auto Arena. Entry fees are $45 with a $10 office charge. Pre-entries must be postmarked by Oct. 1 for a guaranteed spot in the early draw. Late entries accepted until 3 p.m. on site.
