Billings, MT--Local Montana band provides musical entertainment at Stetsons and Stilettos May 29, at the Northern Hotel for the NILE foundation's annual scholarship fundraiser.

The Copper Mountain Band started the same year that the first Stetsons and Stilettos occurred, 2007. The male vocals/guitarist and bass player, Israel David and Nate Norman are cousins who connected with Jacque Jolene (now married to Nate) at a music competition.

The band's evolution has seen members added and subtracted through the years but has maintained it's high-energy, country performances.

Based out of Troy, Mont. this group plays country music with influences from other genres. Lead guitarist, Steve Starkey favors the traditional, edgy country music that of Merle Haggard and Dwight Yoakam. The drummer, Johnny Betts prefers principled playing which comes from his experience with being a part of the Percussion-Naut Patriots and Marauders Drum Corps. Israel David brings jazz and blues tones to the quintet's music.

Songs from Copper Mountain Band are written by the members and exude Montana pride, with lyrics like, "we used to drink on every day that ended in y" it will definitely be a fun performance.
