2013 NILE Weanling/Yearling Horse Sale Results

The annual NILE Gold Buckle Weanling/Yearling Sale drew a large crowd to bid on the attractive set of young horses.

 

Fink Quarter Horses of Hysham, MT consigned both the top-selling weanling and top-selling yearling of this year's sale. The yearling, a son of DMAC Fireplug, going back to Freckles Playboy, and out of Simply A Sparknshot mare - he is a ranch horse extraordinaire with lots of potential. This big, flashy bay gelding was purchased at $5,600 by Jay Blankenship of Rosebud, MT. Fink's weanling, Lot 712, a sorrel filly with a pedigree full of performers and futurity potential was purchased for $2,000 by Karen Kemp of Cypress, TX.

 

Hip #774, a gelding consigned by L4 Quarter Horses, Phil & Lucie Murphy, of Deer Lodge, MT was the second high selling yearling of the sale. A grandson of Playgun, with Smart Little Lena and High Brow Hickory on the mare's side, this sorrel colt is as athletic as they come and was purchased by Travis Young of Absarokee, MT for $3,800.

 

Next was a black yearling stallion consigned by Bar JT Quarter Horses of Volborg, MT. Sired by Signature Perks, this eye-catching horse is a futurity deluxe and was purchased by CT Ripley of Huntley, MT for $3,500.

 

A sorrel yearling filly from Peak Performance Horses of Emigrant, MT brought $2,400. With a pedigree full of champions, this classy filly will be ready for reining, barrels, roping or working cows. This filly was purchased by Sara Silva of Stockton, CA.

Mark and Roberta Raffety of Dillon, MT brought a brown yearling filly out of Hickorys Irish Pep and Dynamic Ruby Lena. This horse has a pedigree full of money earners and could go any direction that one would want it to go. The Anchor R Ranch out of Lacombe, AB purchased this filly for $2,000.

 

A cow bred stud colt consigned by Allen Munger of Brockway, MT brought $1,600. This weanling's pedigree traces back to High Brow Cat and Doc O'Lena and was purchased by the Uphaus Ranch in Glasgow, MT.

 

All of the weanling and yearling horses sold through this sale are eligible to come back and show in the NILE futurities in 2014. NILE currently offers five futurities, Yearling, Snafflebit Two-Year-Old, Three-Year-Old, Four-Year-Old, and a Barrel Futurity sponsored by Midnight Corona. This year NILE paid out over $16,000 in the futurities.  
 

 Lot 712, the high selling weanling in the sale, consigned by Fink Quarter Horses of Hysham, MT sold for $2,000 to Karen Kemp of Cypress, TX.
