The NILE Western Expo Offers a Feast for the Senses and Fun for the Whole Family

Billings, Mont. - As patrons enter the doors of the Rimrock Auto Arena, they are greeted with a heavenly aroma; a mix of sweet confections and saddle leather.  Fiddle music wafts through the air, tantalizing the eardrums.  And, the eyes are delighted by a myriad of colors, textures and bright sparkly objects.  The NILE Western Expo returns to Metra Park October 16-19, free and open to the public 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM daily
.
The NILE Western Expo features a one-of-a-kind western trade show, Cowboy Code free entertainment stage and the new Horse Haven attraction.  The trade show will feature over 150 exhibitors offering authentic western art, jewelry, saddles, tack, food vendors, and western wear as well as livestock equipment, feed and supplements.  "It is the perfect place to get all your Christmas shopping done ahead of schedule," said trade show organizer, Traci Marchinowski, "especially for those 'hard to buy for' folks on your list."

In addition to the western trade show, patrons will enjoy a variety of cowboy music, poetry and entertainment on the Cowboy Code stage, with daily performances from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Favorites from the past two years such as Almeda Bradshaw, Nevada Slim and Cimarron Sue, and BJ Smith will be featured, along with Cowboy Church presented each day by Big Sky Cowboy Ministry at 5:00 PM.  Cowboy Code entertainers will also be featured nightly at 10:00 PM at the Dude Rancher Lodge, downtown Billings.

Brand new to the NILE Western Expo this year is Horse Haven, a series of events that will take place in the Ford Super Duty Arena inside the Montana Pavilion.  Attendees will take in free colt starting and hoof care demonstrations, miniature horse demonstrations, the back-by-popular-demand "Stallion Row," and more.  Horse Haven events will take place Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  Nearby in the Small Bay of the Montana Pavilion, the Young Guns Zone presented by 2-W Livestock Equipment will run from Wednesday through Saturday 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  The Young Guns Zone features fun for the little guys with pony rides, stick horse races, celebrity cowboy autograph sessions, and mutton bustin' qualifiers for each night's rodeo performance, sponsored by Tvetene Turf.
