AsiaBound Grants

 

The Australian Government has approved a A$37 million AsiaBound Grants Program for more than 10,000 Australian students to live and study in Asia. Grants of A$2000-5000 will be available for those undertaking short or semester-length study exchanges, and Australian students will be able to receive A$1000 in aid for preparatory Asian language study. Murdoch University

 

The Study Abroad and Exchange Program at Murdoch University is introducing a new structure in 2013. The new 'pay per credit point' fee structure moves away from the traditional flat tuition fee structure offered by most universities in Australia. This ensures international students at Murdoch pay only for those credit points they undertake.Visit Murdoch's website for more information and updated tuition figures.

Perth USAsia Centre Opens
New learning and research centre

Example Image - 120 x 85 pixelsUS Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton helped commemorate the opening of the Perth USAsia Centre at the University of Western Australia, an institution working toward strengthening ties between the United States, Australia and the Asian region. The Perth USAsia Centre will work closely with the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. Learn more about this new effort to strengthen pan-Pacific cooperation.
Curtin University Economics Scholarships
For PhD candidates
Example Image - 120 x 85 pixelsResearch students in the field of economics, including but not restricted to quantitative modelling, microeconomics and public finance, are invited to apply for the 2013 Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre PhD Scholarships. Eight scholarships are available, each providing a stipend of $25 000 per year for 3.5 years; for international students a tuition fee waiver is added. Students enrolled in a full-time PhD program at Curtin University are eligible. Click here for more information.

UQ Veterinary School Receives US Accreditation
Opens up global workforce for graduates

This will allow any UQ veterinary school graduate to sit for the North American licensing exam, required for anyone wishing to practice in North America. Australian programs and cities in top 10
 
Abroad101, a service of STA Travel and a study abroad review website, recently released its 2012 Study Abroad Rankings. The Education Abroad Network programs in partnership with the following Australian universities placed in the top 10: University of Sydney and University of New South Wales at #4, and Bond University at #6. Travel Discounts in New South Wales
International students can save up to 35%

New South Wales will offer discounts on travel within the state, easing the financial burden on international students. Those studying abroad in New South Wales-which hosts more international students than any other Australian state-can save up to A$800 on transportation in the greater Sydney area.
