DOM Equipment News

Shure M367

This month, we look at two pieces of gear that could really help you out on your field shoots!

The Shure M367 Field Mixer provides all the features necessary for professional field mixing and can really help you out in the field when you have more than the standard two inputs for audio recording on most cameras. This mixer features 6 transformer-balanced XLR inputs and 2 XLR mono outputs (one mic and one line). The M367 is completely portable, capable of both AC and battery operation. The M367 also features low-cut filter switches and phantom power on all channels and a peak limiter switch.

The Teradek Wireless Transmission Kit allows you to output HD video from your camera and transmit it wirelessly to a monitor, recording or switching device. The transmitter and receiver input or output on both HD-SDI or HDMI. DOM members can check Teradek kit out for 1/2 off the commercial rate.

Check out these and other equipment at denveropenmedia.org/equipment.
Executive Director's Letter
Are you ready to make some waves?

We have 4 DAYS LEFT in
our Kickstarter campaign. Four days to bring 100% local, community-driven FM radio to Denver.

So far, we've raised $6,800 of our $25,000 goal. Individuals and organizations alike have come forward to show their support. Now, it's time to double down on our efforts and give everyday people the power to make waves in the media conversation.

We started this Kickstarter campaign a month ago because we believe in this mission. If you're tired of media gatekeepers or content that values the few over the many, take a stand and help us make this dream a reality!

Video Client - Book Trust
One of OMF's favorite returning clients is Book Trust, an organization that helps get books into the hands of kids who may not otherwise have access to them. For the last five years, OMF has created videos for their annual fundraising events.

This year, we wanted to do something new. Book Trust trusted us to move away from a more traditional, documentary-style "talking heads" video, and we were able to develop a piece that is much more conceptual and narrative. We think the results were great!

Take a look to see how Book Trust is helping kids unlock their imaginations.
Meet New AmeriCorps VISTA Member Hayley Adams

Join us in welcoming Hayley Adams, our new VISTA member.
VISTA is an AmeriCorps program that stands for Volunteer in Service to America.

Hayley graduated from the University of South Florida and studied public health and public health education. At the Open Media Foundation, Hayley will be joining other AmeriCorps VISTA members in organizing media and technology trainings, member and outreach support, as well as helping to expand fundraising capacities.

Recently having moved across the country from Tampa Florida, Hayley is excited to start building relationships within the communities she will live and work. And lastly, as someone who loves the outdoors, she is ready to explore all of what the greater Denver area has to offer.

Meet Station Intern Viviana Acevedo

When Viviana moved to the U.S. from Chile eight months ago, she wanted to be involved in the community so that she could absorb the culture. She found the internship program at Denver Open Media.

"With this internship, I could help the city and learn important skills so I that one day I could realize my dream of becoming a Director of Photography," she explains. "In addition to the classes and working at a TV station, I learned a new job culture in a different country and have met amazing workmates."

When not working in her internship, Viviana is producing Folkcolor, which showcases dancing from different cultures. "I am looking forward to providing a venue for more cultures in the show's second season!"
