Open Music Sessions at Denver Open Media, December 4
|
On the first Friday of each month, DOM hosts a community event with local performance groups, musical acts and nonprofit partners. These events are broadcast live on Comcast Channel 57 in Denver as well as streamed on DOM's website. Events are cablecast and streamed live in Denver Open Media's Studio A.
Join DOM for this month's Open Music Sessions as part of the Open Media Foundation Anniversary Party on Friday, December 4, featuring a live musical performance by Chimney Choir.
Chimney Choir is a group of talented multi-instrumentalists with an old-timey sound. They have the usual roots of Americana and folk, but the character of their melodic folk sound hinges largely on a skillful balancing of freaky vocal interplay with computer synths, traditional acoustics and kitchen sink percussion.
The Anniversary Party begins at 7 pm, with the live show and concert beginning at 8 pm. Join us for this FREE event, complete with food and drinks!

OMF Video Client - Colorado Futures Center
|
| TABOR & Its Effect on Property Tax |
According to a study by the Colorado Futures Center, more than 80% of Coloradans pay more in school property taxes than they would have if voters had never enacted TABOR (the Taxpayer Bill of Rights). Open Media Foundation's Video Production Services department recently finished a video for Colorado Futures Center (part of Colorado State University) exploring this issue. The 4-1/2 minute animation examines TABOR and its effect on school property tax.

Meet OMF Chief Editor Patrick Gilmore
|
Join us in welcoming Patrick Gilmore to Open Media Foundation. He will be serving as Chief Editor in our Video Production Services department.
After receiving his degree in film and television from The Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, Patrick began working as a videographer and editor with Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic, for which he traveled the world from the Galápagos Islands to Antarctica. After three years with the company, Patrick shifted his focus to creating powerful mission videos for local nonprofits in his hometown of Portland, Oregon.
Patrick is excited to be a member of a passionate, inspired team of filmmakers with whom he feels he can piece together powerful stories that foster positive change.
