Intendence Film Festival
The Intendence Film Festival (IFF) will be screening films from Colorado and the rest of the world on Thursday, June 25, through Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Open Media Foundation. The Awards Luncheon will be held on Sunday, June 28.

IFF's mission is to provide an inclusive film event that features the world-class talents of the Colorado film industry, while acknowledging good filmmaking wherever it originates. The festival also encourages and recognizes emerging young filmmakers.

This year's IFF will be presenting 13 films from Colorado and 26 from other states and countries.

Visit IFF's Facebook page or email info@intendence.org for more information.

The Intendence Film Festival Corporation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity.
Letter from the Executive Director
A big thank you to all of our supporters who attended this year's annual fundraising breakfast - Building a Foundation for Change. The event was attended by more than 200 people and raised over $5,000 for OMF's efforts to provide Services, Training and Tools. Be sure to watch this video from the breakfast.

Looking for another way to support Open Media Foundation? Consider donating to the DENHAC: Denver's Collaborative Hackerspace Kickstarter campaign. The campaign is working to raise $10,000 to help Denhac and OMF bring Denver's first and best hackerspace to OMF's location at 700 Kalamath Street. Pledges to this campaign come with generous rewards, including workspaces, memberships, classes and more.
Open Music Sessions at Denver Open Media, June 5
On the first Friday of each month, DOM hosts a community event with local performance groups, musical acts and nonprofit partners. These events are broadcast live on Comcast Channel 57 in Denver as well as streamed on DOM's website.  Events are cablecast and streamed live in Denver Open Media's Studio A.

Join DOM for this month's Open Music Sessions on Friday, June 5, featuring a live musical performance by Straight White Teeth.

Straight White Teeth

The bright-eyed and enigmatic, indie pop artist Patrick McGuire is born again. The vocalist and songwriter, who the Houston Press has described as "utterly compelling," is opening a new door and taking the autonomous reigns of his musical career, after parting ways with band Flashbulb Fires. Patrick is a consummate artist with an angelic instrument that yearns to be heard. Like a new chapter in a book, McGuire will continue to do what he has always done best, which is to create lush and meaningful music.

Video Client Profile - Denver Kids
Denver Kids, Inc. is an organization that supports children in their education - both inside and outside of the classroom. Denver Kids acts as a bridge between schools and homes, matching educational counselors and mentors with students who need some extra support.

This year's video for Denver Kids - Stronger Togethercreated by OMF's Video Production Department - demonstrates how, through Denver Kids, parents, teachers, counselors, mentors, and students are all stronger - simply by being connected to this greater support system.
Pride Parade Live!
Mark your calendars! Sunday, June 21st is Denver's annual Pride Parade! OMF will be livestreaming the event from the roof of The Center, Denver's largest LGBT community center. The parade starts at 9 am, but there will be PrideFest events happening all weekend! Find out more and see highlights from last year's Pride event here.
OMF Wins Knight Prototype Fund Award
OMF is excited to announce that it is receiving project funding from the Knight Foundation's Prototype Fund for She Said, He Said (SSHS).

SSHS is an experiment in government transparency, making accessible the daily work of Colorado representatives, candid documentation of their stances, and effectiveness. SSHS leverages voice recognition/audio analysis libraries to create an audio thumbprint for each legislator. It allows users to look up every time a legislator discussed a particular topic or referred to any issue.

SSHS is an extension of OMF's work with the Colorado Channelwhere we stream and archive every session of the Colorado State House and Senate.

The Knight Prototype Fund helps to create prototypes as a way to make small bets on exploratory work that promises to create new pathways for information that is essential for communities. The fund provides $35,000 and training in human-centered design. Click here to learn more.
