DOM Equipment News - New Studio Lights

We have invested some of DOM's equipment funds this year into improving the efficiency and quality of the lighting in both of our studios.

Studio A - We have added 13 brand new LED lights, 8 fresnels and 3 ellipsoidal lights. Those lights total 870 total watts of power and effectively replace 10,150 watts. This means a greener AND cooler studio! We've also replaced the light board and now have a complete one-to-one fader-to-light control.

Studio B
- We have moved several of the fluorescent kinos from Studio A to B in order to provide more even lighting for the green-screen cyclorama wall. This will give members a nice, even green wall to offer the cleanest chroma keying for their virtual sets and green-screen shoots.

Call for Table Captains: OMF's Annual Fundraising Breakfast!

Every year, the Open Media Foundation hosts a free breakfast event in May, where we review accomplishments from the previous year and share our strategic path for the future. This year's breakfast is scheduled for May 13th, 7:30 to 8:30am at the MiCasa Resource Center for Women.

If you know of individuals or organizations who you'd like to invite to this free event, please consider being a Table Captain and trying to fill a table of guests.  We promise they'll have good food, meet great people, and leave the breakfast inspired!

For more information about being a Table Captain, you can contact me at tony@openmediafoundation.org, or attend our Table Captain training tonight at 5:30pm in our Board Room at 700 Kalamath St (3/31/2015). If you'd like to attend the breakfast, but can't commit to filling a table of guests, you can join a table of one of our staff or board.
Open Music Sessions at Denver Open Media, April 3
On the first Friday of each month, DOM hosts a community event with local performance groups, musical acts and nonprofit partners. These events are broadcast live on Comcast Channel 57 in Denver as well as streamed on DOM's website.  Events are cablecast and streamed live in Denver Open Media's Studio A.

Join DOM for this month's Open Music Sessions on Friday, April 3, featuring a live musical performance by High Five.

High Five

High Five is is a unique Denver-based Hip Hop collective that finds its roots and inspiration in the break beats and rhyme styling of Hip Hop's golden era.

The show will also feature comedy from Kevin O'Brien.

Please join our Facebook event and share us!

New Parking Rules at OMF
To address the shortage of parking space for people that use our building, we have instituted new parking rules.

Tenants of 700 Kalamath Street should have their assigned sticker on the dashboard of their car when parking in the lots.

Guests should check in with Adino at the front desk. If no one is at the desk, there will be a vehicle check-in sheet at the reception desk.

If you are a tenant, DOM member or frequent guest of the building, please ask Adino or Shannon (OMF office manager) to receive your own parking pass.

And please only park in marked spots and not along the sidewalk, or you may be ticketed by Denver Police.

Thank you for your cooperation in this process!
Make it HD!
We all know that HD (high-definition video) looks better than SD (standard definition), and certainly better than analog. But do you know how you will get your content shown in HD?

DOM will not be able to apply for the HD channel that was granted in last year's franchise agreement with the City of Denver until we have 98% of our content available for HD playback.

We need your help in making sure all the content submitted by members is HD. Moving forward, we ask that all new content be submitted in HD. If you do not have HD content, we ask that it be up-converted before it is ingested into the system. If you need help with this, please ask a DOM intern or staff member.
