DOM Equipment News - New Audio in Studio A
Denver Open Media has always been a great place for bands to share their work on video, but as of May, 2014 we have installed a new audio system for Studio A. This state-of-the-art multi-track recording system will allow bands to ensure that the top-notch video recordings are accompanied by top-quality audio. Stems from each instrument are now able to be recorded and mastered individually, among other benefits.
FREE Summer Youth Media Education Programs
Thanks to generous funding from the Anschutz Family Foundation, the Open Media Foundation is able to again offer FREE summer youth media education programs for qualifying nonprofit organizations that work with youth. Click here to view the workshop offerings and to apply.
Survey for New Class Offering
Attention independent filmmakers! Open Media Foundation is planning to offer a class this summer on business and legal strategies for independent filmmaking, but we want your input on exactly what will be included in the class. Click here to fill out a short survey on the topics that will be covered. Thanks for your input!
Partnership with Merrill Middle School
Open Media Foundation has just completed a 12-week series of classes - Media Foundations 101 - with students at Merrill Middle School in Denver as part of their 8th period enrichment program. The students were trained in video production and produced segments about the other enrichment programs at Merrill - sports, musical theater, band, LEGO robotics and more. Click here to view the students' programs. Interested in having OMF come to your neighborhood school? Contact John Aden at [email protected].
Letter from the Executive Director
On behalf of the board and staff of the Open Media Foundation, I want to thank everyone who attended our annual breakfast fundraiser - A Higher Definition of Media - on Tuesday, May 20th. Special thanks to our Table Captains and volunteers who filled the room with over 250 people at the Mi Casa Resource Center for Women. The event raised $13,455 to support our services and training to nonprofits, governments, and individuals.
The morning opened with a wonderful introduction from Amy Goodman, followed by food, videos, and speeches from our new Board President, Sam Fuqua, and Youth Group members Jonah Lujan and Bailey Bermond. If you missed it, you can see the intro video below, and it is never too late to make a donation at  openmediafoundation.org/donate.

First Friday at Denver Open Media, June 6
On the first Friday of each month, DOM hosts a free community event with local performance groups, musical acts and nonprofit partners. These events are broadcast live on Comcast Channel 57 in Denver as well as streamed on DOM's website.  Events are cablecast and streamed live in Denver Open Media's Studio A.

Join DOM on the First Friday of June with a live music performance by Dragondeer and comedian Chris Charpentier, as well as a nonprofit spotlight featuring the Intendence Film Festival.

Dragondeer

Dragondeer is a psych-blues band from Denver, Colorado whose singular, reverb drenched take on old school blues coupled with inspired improvisation has the band making fans in both roots circles as well as indie clubs across Colorado and beyond.
