Ban Bossy Campaign

Ban Bossy, our joint campaign with Sheryl Sandberg's "Lean In" foundation, is about empowering girls to demonstrate leadership qualities at home, at school, and in their lives, by eliminating the stigma that surrounds the word "bossy." Girls should receive the same encouragement and hear the same praise as boys who take on leadership positions. Girl Scouts is set to deliver that message to girls, parents, and local communities across the United States.

Happy 102 Birthday Girl Scouts!!!

Girl Scout Week started with Girl Scout Sunday this past weekend, and ends with Girl Scout Sabbath on Saturday.

On March 12, 1912, Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization's first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia.

At Sodus Methodist Church

Girl Scout Daisy Troop 40181 participated in Girl Scout Sunday at the Sodus Methodist Church. Girls sang the Daisy Smile Song, passed out bookmarks they made for the Bibles, and received the My Promise My Faith pin during a special ceremony.

There are many ways to celebrate Girl Scout's  birthday. Here are just a few! Happy Birthday Girl Scouts!

  • Create a "Birthday Party in a Bag" and present it to a local shelter.
  • Contact the Activity Director at a local senior citizen home and offer to plan and put on the March birthday party.
  • Plant a tree or beautify an area in honor of Girl Scout Birthday Week.
  • Plan a Girl Scout birthday party and invite non-Girl Scouts to participate.
