Photos of the Week

Daisy Troop adopts deployed female soldiers and sends items oversees.
The Oriskany Girl Scout Daisy Troop 20397 have "adopted" female soldiers who are currently deployed. They had a great time making cards, letters and care packages for their soldiers in honor of Thanksgiving and to earn the Sunny petal for being Friendly and Helpful. Some of the girls have already gotten e-mail responses from their soldiers!

Send your potential Photo of the Week to Kim Dunne, media manager. Submit clear, quality photos. Close-ups of activities make the best shots!
State of Girls: A New Study from the GSRI
From the State of Girls GSRI
The Girl Scout Research Institute released its latest study last week. The State of Girls: Unfinished Business is a groundbreaking report from the Girl Scout Research Institute (GSRI) that stakes out key issues and major trends affecting
girls' healthy development in the United States today. A report of this magnitude and breadth has never been conducted, making it a much-needed resource in the field. This work is motivated by the desire to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to
become a healthy and productive woman who can be a leader in her own life and in the world at large. We hope the findings will be used to drive policy and program decisions and that nonprofit organizations, government, and industry will connect what we know about how girls are faring to the resources that will best support them and their families.
