Toy Drive in Avoca
Girl Scout Troop 1198 is looking for new or gently used toys to donate to the local communities in need.  The drive is scheduled for December 14, 2-5 p.m. at the Avoca Baptist Church. Drop off boxes are also located at Avoca businesses: Five Star Bank, Touch of Beauty, Lakeview Apartments (during church only on Sundays), Caboose Motel, and Cameo Classic and Hot Spot Tanning in Cohocton.  To request toys, contact Laura Lathrop, leader. 607.382.3352.

Hawaii Girl Scouts Launch Project into Space
Teen Girl Scouts from Hawaii experimented with a new way to grow organic greens, which they obtained from a local farm. NASA chose their project to make a trip to the International Space Station!
Background Checks

Updating Background Checks: All currently  registered adult members with Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways who submitted their background check during the Membership Year 2009-2010 should have received an email from Lindsey Tupia, Senior Manager of Volunteer Services, to update their background check. Anyone who is listed but doesn't have an email address on file, will receive notification via a letter in the mail by Friday of this week. If you do not receive notification, you do not need to update your information at this time.

According to our policy on background checks, every member must be background checked every three years.
