New Hartford Open House

Visit us in our relocated New Hartford Service Center on Tuesday, September 10 for our open house!  Our boutique will have special sales when its doors open at 10 a.m.  From 4-7 p.m. with have some light snacks, and a special program that begins at 5:30 or 6.   Join us at 600 French Road, New Hartford! Farewell ceremonies are scheduled for three of the camps that the Board has chosen to close.  We encourage you to bring your memories, your photos for our memory book and your stories to share on the following dates and times. 

Yaiewano (Auburn): Saturday, September 7. 2-8 p.m.
Sugar Creek (Troy, PA): Sunday, September 15, 5 p.m. 
Bayberry (Phelps/Junius): Saturday, October 5, 5 p.m.

Women's Hall Hosts Essay Contest

Is there a woman in your life who has inspired you? If so, the National Women's Hall of Fame wants to know.  With your essay, win a pair of tickets to the October 12 induction ceremony and tea.  Due Sept. 27 to Amanda Bishop. Visit the Hall of Fame for of the induction.

Adult Leadership Conference April 2014

Mark your calendars!!! We are excited to announce our first Adult Leadership Conference, scheduled for April 4-6, 2014 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn. You will be able to pick from a variety of amazing workshops all geared to enhance your leadership skills in Girl Scouting, and your personal life. Friday will be networking; Saturday is packed with workshops and a boutique to browse. Saturday evening we'll have activity options during your free time.  Sunday we'll wrap up the conference and have a closing ceremony. An optional wine tour will be available. Stay tuned for more details! We hope to see you all there! 

Adult Only Trip to Savannah!

Join us Tuesday, August 26 to Friday, August 292014!
Experience the southern charm and exquisite architecture of Savannah, one of the oldest cities in America. See brilliantly restored neighborhoods filled with stately old mansions and Victorian homes. Discover hidden gardens and old plantations. And visit the Girl Scout First Headquarters and participate in the Girl Scout Heritage Visit at Juliette Gordon Low's Birthplace. With its beauty and deep-rooted history, there's a lot to admire in this magnificent Georgian city.

The price per person is $1,530 which includes round trip airfare, three overnight stays in hotels with private bathrooms, breakfast and lunch on days 2, 3 & 4 and dinner on days 1, 2 & 3. All tipping and gratuities are included except for housekeeping services at the hotel. Includes entrance to Historic Savannah Carriage Tour, Juliette Gordon Low's Birthplace, Old Fort Jackson, Dolphin Cruise, Tybee Island Lighthouse, Andrew Low House, Laurel Grove Cemetery and Ghost Walk.  
 
To reserve space you must register by October 25 with a non-refundable $300 deposit. The next payment of $250 will be due December 20, 2013 and the final payment of $980 will be due on May 8, 2014. After the initial deposit, you can also make monthly payments of $176 (beginning November 1, 2013 - May 1, 2014) Registration for this trip will open Tuesday September 3.      
Note: Hoping to win the free trip to Savannah by attending all the regional meetings? Please  pay the initial $300 deposit, and the $250 payment in December to secure your space. If you are chosen at the Volunteer Recognition Event in April/May 2014, you will get a full refund of both payments and any monthly payments that have been made.

Don't Miss This Museum Exhibit Celebrating Girl Scouting's 100th Anniversary! 
The Discovery Center  A wonderful hands-on interactive display in Binghamton. The museum has extended the display's run and will now be open through October 2013!. A birthday bash is being planned on October 19. The Discovery Center is looking for Girl Scouts to help with a history skit, or some other program for the public that day as they close the 100th Anniversary exhibit. Interested?
