  Gold Awardees:  Julia and Jessica

Julia J Julia J. is completing her freshman year at Herkimer County Community College. She hopes to help young people through studying psychiatry.  For her Gold Award Take Action project, she created a driving obstacle course to show students firsthand what distracted driving can do. Working with her school's driver's ed teacher, the course allowed students to text and drive and learn from the experience.

Jessica KJessica K.  is a college freshman at SUNY Oneonta studying computer art and communications. She set up a food calendar and budget for families struggling with the economy as her Gold Award Take Action project. She hoped families could better manage their money and eat healthier. She created an interactive way for people to manage their income and expenses.
