Is your troop collecting new PJs, slippers and robes for women and children in transition? If so, remember donations need to be to the Cicero Service Center or a Summit Credit Union branch by November 30. (If you're dropping off at another of our service centers, please allow time for us to transfer to Cicero.) Thanks to Summit, the 2012 patches are free to participating girls! You must place your order by December 15 through this link: PJ ROUND-UP. The link can also be found on the shop page of our website. |

Girl Scouting Matters -- Happy Thanksgiving! I was so touched by the story that was shared by one of our staff members who serves as a Community Development Manager. Not everyone is blessed to know how our actions positively impacted the life of a girl, but I hope many of you have such a story and that you might share it with me someday. One thing we can all do is reflect on who has impacted our lives in a special way and then reach out to them to let them know. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I can imagine no greater gift than to know our life matters. MORE |
A Property Message from the Board
Dear Girl Scout Members -
The Board met on Saturday (11/17) and decided to delay the final decision regarding camp properties until 12/13/2012 to allow the Board to review and assimilate all of the valuable information received at the Town Hall meetings.
This decision on the camp properties is important to everyone in the council - especially the girls. There are many different voices with differing opinions and suggestions, and the Board has welcomed all of them. Listening to and weighing all the information and opinions takes time. If you've followed the communications on the GSNYPENN website, you are aware of all the data that's been collected and the differing opinions about the properties as shared through the minutes of the town hall meetings. We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.

Troop Progress Reports |
Please fill out survey by January 15.
Troop leaders should fill out the progress checklist two times a year (fall/spring) to monitor girls' progress in achieving the outcomes we want for all girls in Girl Scouting! Please fill out the fall checklist appropriate for your Girl Scout troop grade level. This information is vital for both you as the volunteer, and for organizations like the United Way that fund opportunities for girls. Thanks for your help!
