'Sandy' Relief
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, many Girl Scout councils find themselves affected by the storm and are working hard to bounce back while simultaneously supporting their communities.
Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore is reporting limited service at its Ocean Service Center and no service at its Monmouth Service Center. Additionally, the council reports downed phone and email systems, but can be reached at
in the meantime.
For information on how to help fellow Girl Scouts, head to the GSJS Facebook page and join the conver-sation.
Despite minimal impact,Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast is actively involved in recruiting relief efforts, including "Project: Toiletry Kits for Storm Victims." You can find out more here.

From the CEO's Desk
I was so touched by the following e-mail I received last week from a Girl Scout volunteer:
I was wondering if there was a way my Girl Scout troop could help out affected girls in other Girl Scout troops by the hurricane. I currently have first year Brownies but would be involving our entire Unit of Chittenango NY. Please let us know what we can do to help.
Isn't it wonderful to be part of the Girl Scout family whose members stand ready to help out their "sister" Girl Scouts? MORE |

GSUSA Partners with National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign
The Stop.Think.Connect. Campaign is a national public awareness effort among government, industry, and non-profits designed to guide the nation to a higher level of Internet security by educating and empowering the American public to be more vigilant about practicing safe online habits. Current National Network members include Boys and Girls Clubs, YWCA USA, 4-H, and many more. The campaign will provide Girl Scouts with tools and resources to help raise awareness among kids, teens and young adults about emerging online threats and the importance of cybersecurity. This partnership builds on the campaign's efforts to highlight curriculum resources available to communities as well as to promote cybersecurity awareness to millions of girls engaged in Girl Scouting.
Girl Scouts of the USA will be sharing additional information on the For Girls site on GirlScouts.org. More information on Stop.Think.Connect. programs and opportunities. |
