Hello NHHS Community,
As a follow-up to the email you received last week in regards to how our school measured up in the Washington Post - America's Most Challenging High Schools and U.S. News and World Report - Best High Schools rankings, our school recently received information on how our high school ranked in the recently released Newsweek - Best High Schools rankings.
Nationwide, only the top 2,000 schools in the nation were ranked in their poll which reflects less than the top 10% of the total number of high schools in our nation. Our school's ranking came out to be 502 amongst these 2,000 schools. The ranking is based on the following criteria from the 2011-12 school year with the percent weight factor in parentheses:
- Class of 2012 Graduation Rate (25% of the ranking)
- Number of AP/IB tests taken in 2012 (25% of the ranking)
- Percent of College Bound Seniors (25% of the ranking)
- Average SAT/ACT scores (10% of the ranking)
- Average AP/IB test scores (10% of the ranking)
- Number of students enrolled in at least 1 AP/IB course (5% of the ranking)

Once again, congratulations to the students and staff for their outstanding work as well as to our school community for their ongoing support toward our mission.
