IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON 2013 AP EXAM REGISTRATION
AP Exam Testing is May 6-16, 2013
This email is to let all current AP students know that beginning Monday, February 25th (the day we return from Presidents Recess) you may begin paying for your 2013 AP Exams through the ASB Office. AP Exams must be paid for by Friday, April 12th. Cash or checks will be accepted. Please make checks payable to NHHS. The price of the exam is $89, but will go up to $94 April 12, 2013.
- Students must pick up AP Exam Registration packets from the College & Career Center located in lower Sims Hall. The packets contain the AP Exam schedule and information for students who can qualify for financial assistance (see paragraph below).
- The only students who can qualify for financial assistance at this time are:
- those who qualify for the School District's Free or Reduced Lunch Program or
- whose family income does not exceed 185% of the federal poverty income level.
The AP Exam Registration packets contain reduced fee applications for these two categories. Students who feel they qualify must submit this required paperwork to Asst. Principal Dr. Dave Martinez's Office no later than Thursday, April 11th, to be considered for the price reduction.
- College Board allows students interested in taking an Advanced Placement exam, but who not enrolled in an Advanced Placement course, the opportunity to be considered to take an AP exam in the desired subject requested. Students in this category must contact Dr. Martinez's Office by email no later than Wednesday, March 27th, in order to be considered to take the AP exam this coming May in the subject requested. There will be no exceptions if requests are not made by Wednesday, March 27th. Please email your request to Dr. Martinez at dmartinez@nmusd.us.
We are anticipating close to 1,400 AP Exams to be taken by over 700 NHHS students. Once again, we wish our students the very best and commend them for taking on this rigorous course of study.
Sincerely,
