NHHS Families,
This email is to let you know that we wish Ms. Julie Crossen, NHHS Guidance Counselor, the very best as she will begin her maternity leave on February 25th. We anticipate that she will be on leave through the end of May 2013. In her place, the school will be utilizing two Counseling substitutes to fill for Ms. Crossen while she is out. Ms. Peggy Hoyt and Ms. Elin Lightbody have agreed to work together to oversee Julie's student caseload while she is out.
Both Ms. Hoyt and Ms. Lightbody have had experience as counselors in our District. Below are brief backgrounds on both of them:
Ms. Peggy Hoyt is currently assisting our school as the Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Coordinator. She is a former guidance counselor at both Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor High Schools and has experience serving as a counseling substitute at our site and Estancia High School. Ms. Hoyt will be here Tuesdays-Thursdays, and selected Fridays. Her email address is phoyt@nmusd.us.
Ms. Elin Lightbody has had experience serving as a guidance counselor at Corona del Mar High School, Mater Dei High School, Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate School and Saddleback Junior College. Ms. Lightbody recently served as a counseling substitute at Corona del Mar High School. Ms. Lightbody will be here on Mondays. Her email address is elightbody@nmusd.us.
We are very fortunate to have both Ms. Hoyt and Ms. Lightbody to fill in at our site to serve our students during Ms. Crossen's leave and feel we have very capable and knowledgeable people brought on board within our Counseling Team.
