This week we continue a really cool series featuring wines paired with cheeses, highlighting how these two foods work so well together.  We would love to hear what you think about the pairings.  And if you like cured meats with your wine and cheese, we are having a little sale this weekend:  all cured meats are 30% off Saturday and Sunday!

We have just scheduled our next wine dinner at Tomasso for Thursday, March 21st.  Sicilian wine maker Gaetana Jacono of Valle Dell'Acate will be joining us for a four course, Sicilian inspired menu, paired with her wines.  The cost is $75 per person and the menu will be available on the website shortly.

Cheeses vary in styles, milk varieties & treatment, origin and history. Each cheese has its own story and flavor profile, just like each bottle of wine at Panzano. This week we are featuring three unique cheeses from around the world and pairing each with a bottle of wine for you!

First to Spain! Manchego cheese is the most important and well-known sheep's milk cheese there is. Its long historic and literary tradition has made it world renowned, as Cervantes mentioned it in the legendary "Don Quixote of La Mancha". The shape of this cheese is very characteristic and defined, due to the traditional use of esparto grass molds that imprints a zigzag pattern along the side of the cheese.  READ MORE

With a growing international wine market incorporating not only the Old World vineyards of Europe but also the newer, bolder styles coming from places like Argentina, South Africa, California, and Australia, Tuscany was launched into competition with a much broader and varied market than the world had ever seen.
