The Many Faces of Chianti
Out of Italy's twenty wine regions, Tuscany is by far the most famous. Perhaps it is the iconic landscape of soft, rolling hills and romantic, cypress-limned country roads, but it is also no doubt because of some of the world's most prestigious wines calling this place home. The hills grow taller to the north as they sprout into the peaks of Emilia-Romagna and Umbria, while they all but disappear to the south into the flat, lake-studded lands of Lazio. To the east lie the borders of the Marche and Abruzzi, high in the Appenine Mountains, and to the west lies the beaches and cliffs of the Maremma Toscana, or Tuscan coast. READ MORE>
