January is getting busy around here.  Have you attended one of Shaun's Thursday "Wine by the Class" sessions yet?  They are getting very popular!  We have two events lined up this month as well: a charity brunch and a wine dinner.

Super Hunger Brunch Sunday, January 27th at Tomasso

Tomasso is participating this year in the Super Hunger Brunch to support the Greater Boston Food Bank.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online.  All proceeds benefit this great cause to provide food for those in need.

Wine Dinner:  Friday January 25th, 6:30PM at Tomasso

Our first wine dinner of 2013 features five courses with five wine pairings from five different regions of Italy.  We call it "Around the Boot in Five Courses: A Taste of Italy's Regional Cuisine".  The dinner will be hosted by Michael Petrizzo of Vias Imports.  Please take a look at the menu and click here if you would like to reserve a seat.  The cost is $80/person plus tax and tip.  Space is limited to 30 people.

Wine by the Class: Learn, Taste, Eat
 Thursday 5:30-6:30PM at Panzano

This week the topic is "California Dreamin': A Look At Some New World Wines".  $10/person.  Walk-in or call ahead (508-485-8884).

Swing into the New Year with Some Sweetness!

La Salamandra Dulce de Leche 10% off this week

Now that we have finished with the New Year celebrations, 2013 is here and in full swing. Now it's  time to have some sweet fun! Come into Panzano to enjoy the perfectly simple, smooth treat: La Salamandra Dulce de Leche. Dulce de Leche has been called milk jam, milk candy and sweet milk-none of which do the actual sweet goodness any justice. Although Dulce de Leche is predominantly found in South American countries, there is reference to it being made in France as far back as the 14th century..   READ MORE>

WEEKEND WINE TASTING
BY SHAUN SNOW

COMPLIMENTARY TASTING

FRIDAY 5-7pm SATURDAY 2-5pm

Dogliani Delicacy

Clinging to the fertile hills surrounding the River Rea, one can find the vineyards of Dogliani stretching in every direction, as far as the eye can see. If Alba is the heart of the Langhe, then Dogliani is without a doubt its soul. Hemmed to the north by the hills of Barolo and bordered to the south by the fecund Tanaro River Valley, this is the home of trufflehunters, artisan cheeses, and, of course, wine. The relatively low altitude, moderate rainfall, and prevailing Ligurian winds from the foothills of the Appenines just to the south help to create a climate that is ideal for the cultivation of grapes. That is why the three grapes that have made Piedmont famous - Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Dolcetto - have thrived here for centuries.   READ MORE>
