empowering people * streamlining businesses and lives

Greetings!

Jody homepage Finally!  School's back in session and we can get back to some routines.  The summer can be pretty crazy, especially with a social teenager who is just under driving age!

Jessica is starting her sophomore year in high school and Jordan is starting community college in a few weeks. Now we will have a different kind of crazy, and its all good!

I've included some tips below on how to tune into the transition of this time of year.  Hope you find them helpful.

Blessings,

Jody
Seasons
Tune In . . .

I'm in the middle of reading a book called The Five Seasons: Tap Into Nature's Secrets for Health, Happiness and Harmony by Joseph Cardillo, PhD.

Yes, it says 5 seasons.  He enters in a Late Summer season which we typically think of as Indian Summer.  Here are some tips he offers along with a little perspective from me:
  • Re-balance.
There are a lot of transitions that happen in business (and our personal lives) this time of year. Reset priorities and schedules and connect with what is important.

  • green leavesPrune impractical or dysfunctional ideas.

Don't continue with something that is not working or making a positive contribution to your life.  Now, it says "prune" not cut down the tree!  A great example was shown on the latest Bachelorette show. Once the one guy she thought was going to work out was "pruned" from the picture, she could finally see the one that was really the best for her without any dysfunction in the way (she wasn't paying attention to the red flags from the first guy).

  • Lessen the stress of your changes, in others.
Communication is the key here.  As you transition into different schedules and you prune things in your life, remember to talk about them with those that might be affected.  Give everyone a voice and listen to their concerns so there isn't a building of resentment and blowout later.

Trying some of these tips will help be in tune with the flow of the season for you personally and in your business.

My stand is for simplicity
and people being in their greatness.

If you are challenged by the changes you are experiencing and would like some help navigating through them, I would love to help you
