I just want to let everyone know that we had a fire alarm sound at 11:10 a.m. at Encinal this morning.  All students were evacuated immediately and staff took control of the situation in a calm and confident manner.  Today's culprit turned out to be a bag of microwave popcorn whose fumes went straight to the smoke detector!  Staff assessed the situation and worked with the fire department.  This event serves as a huge reminder for parents NOT TO PARK IN THE RED ZONES of the carpool lane. This path must always be clear for emergency vehicles, no exceptions.  All visitors must also exit the building in the event of any alarm.  We appreciate your cooperation in this manner.
