Unique Opportunity to Partner with SOS on the Pastoral Training Center

November 10, 2014

Dear Friends of SOS,

Many of you have been faithfully praying for my family and for Sufficiency of Scripture Ministries for years. You have watched our ministry grow through ups and downs, and have stood by us with words of encouragement and love. Many of you have also sacrificially given to SOS and helped us as we minister in Uganda as the Lord has opened so many doors. Because of your partnership with us in this ministry, I am writing to you to share incredible news.

Throughout the last several years, I have been begging and trusting God to provide a donor who can significantly help carry the financial burdens of this ministry. Recently, I have been asking God for someone who could help with the capital cost of developing our Pastoral Training Center. Well, I am excited to inform you that God has answered my prayer!

An anonymous donor has just generously offered to contribute a matching grant of up to $400,000 to complete the first phase of our Pastoral Training Center! This donor has given us four months to match this grant, which expires February 28, 2015. This dear family will match your donation dollar for dollar with specifically designated donations toward the matching grant program, above and beyond regular giving to SOS!

If this grant is met dollar for dollar, SOS could be given up to $800,000. Not only would the first phase of our Pastoral Training Center be funded (10 living units of $40,000 each), but also the necessary infrastructure to support the first building phase (Missionary/Staff housing, administration offices, cafeteria, roads, water, etc.) could be completed. This is by far the largest donation ever offered to SOS, and we are overcome with gratitude and praise to God for answering our prayers!

Within God's mysteries, over the last 6 years, through our nationwide pastoral visits, conferences, and leadership trainings, God has allowed SOS to have a direct impact in over 1,500 churches and allowed us to develop a deep relationship with the regional (overseeing 100-150 churches) and associational (overseeing 10-15 churches) leaders. Yet, SOS's key strategy has always been to train the Baptist Union of Uganda's up and coming pastors on our own campus. Having spent the first 6 years preparing to make this a reality, the stage is set as we have a model church environment in our village, several Ugandan and American seminary-trained professors, six classrooms, a chapel...but no housing. However, with this grant we can eliminate this problem and provide housing for the first level of our Pastoral Training Center, as well as allowing us to bring conferences and BUU leadership training to our own campus.

Brothers and sisters, I want to ask three requests of you. One, please join me in praising God for His gracious provision. Two, please consider helping us match this grant by going to our "Donate Now" page, or by mailing a check to SOS Ministries (PO Box 481, Wheaton IL 60187). All donations must be specified as "matching gift program." Three, please share this opportunity with your friends, family, and churches to help us with this initiative. Your support is greatly needed.

Thank you for taking this journey with us as we labor to strengthen God's church in Uganda!

Gratefully,
