IMPACT
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world...

...Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
-Margaret Mead

As the only community foundation serving MetroWest, we understand that each city and town is different- with special people, places, and history that contribute to its unique character. We also recognize that every community has needs that may not be as apparent, and yet also affect the quality of life for residents. In order to help address the unique needs of our communities, we have established a Town Funds initiative: a program for community members to build and offer support right in the towns where they live. To date, we have established three Town Funds:
These funds provide a steady source of support in areas such as early childhood education, youth recreation, elder services, food access, and community building. To date, our town funds have distributed over $300,000 in grants to strengthen our communities. To learn more about how your neighbors are making a difference in their own towns through the Town Fund initiative, visit our website

Town Fund Competitive Grant Programs

The Foundation for MetroWest is now accepting proposals for the Community Endowment of Lexington and The Fund for Wellesley Competitive Grant Programs. If you are a nonprofit or town department serving the Lexington or Wellesley community, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Grant questions can be directed to Janet Kern, Director of Town Funds.

CENTER FOR PHILANTHROPY EDUCATION
Capacity Building for Our Future

Through the generous support of our donors and the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, we are able to offer the Center for Philanthropy Education. These services and resources help build the capacity, visibility, connections, and expertise that our local nonprofits need to deliver their missions, and, in turn, strengthen the MetroWest region. MetroWest nonprofit staff, volunteers, board and committee members are welcome to attend.
