Here's the Scoop
January 28th, 2016

The cyclamen pictured here are pretty winter greenhouse flowers that, like the primroses, make their appearance in the months of January and February. Enjoy them now, because once the weather begins to warm they'll be replaced with more heat-loving bloomers.

Our growers know we're thirsty for spring too and offer "forced" bulbs of dwarf narcissus, daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths, cheering us with their early blooms.

We're stocking locally grown pansies and violas now if you need a few for filling in those inevitable bare spots in the garden or planters.  If your plantings are looking winter-weary (And aren't we all feeling that way?), give them a pick-me-up with a feed of calcium nitrate.  Keeping up with deadheading and weeding will keep your garden looking it's best through the winter too.

Hopefully you planted some red mustard last fall.  If you didn't, look HERE for a blog post on it and plan on trying some next year!

Enjoy the lovely weekend ahead, and we'll see you soon.
