Here's the Scoop!
January 29th, 2015
If any of you need a pick-me-up, please make time to stop by. January and February might say winter outside, but we're determined to beat the winter blues with greenhouse flowers for everyone inside!
Forced bulbs are a common sight in greenhouses now, and the only thing you need to remember is to keep them as cool as possible to prolong their life. If you want them to come up and bloom faster, simply put them in a warmer spot. They'll reward you with wonderful color at a time we all need it!
A new shipment of air plants is scheduled to come in this week; take a look HERE at the website blog post on them to learn more about these interesting plants.
We know the pansies, violas and snapdragons in planters and gardens really took a hit earlier this month. Feed them now with some calcium nitrate; it is better absorbed by their root systems in cold weather.
Be thinking ahead: If you pre-emerge your grass each year, we have it in now. The time to apply it is normally around mid-February, when the forsythia is blooming. And, while you're planning ahead, remember Valentine's Day is right around the corner too. We are always happy to help with arrangements, orchids and more. (Ladies, put a bug in his ear now...)
Enjoy your weekend, and we'll see you soon!
