Here's the Scoop!
September 18th, 2014

It's time for pumpkins, and we couldn't be happier. We're so ready for fall!  It's still too early to plant pansies, though. They are happiest (And so are we!) when the day and nighttime temperatures begin to remain consistently cool. Until then, brighten entrances to your home with gourds, mums, asters, crotons, and marigolds for those football weekends with friends.

Try to keep your pumpkins and gourds dry if at all possible. Obviously, this can be difficult depending on weather conditions. Another tip to help them last as long as possible is to spray with a mixture of bleach and water, using 1 tsp bleach to 1 gallon water. This will kill any bacteria that might otherwise cause decay.

The picture here is Kris' garden and the subject of a few blog posts! Look HERE to read about creating a garden one plant at a time, one step at a time, and overcoming frustrations along the way.

Finally,  mark your calendar for a fun, kid-friendly event decorating and painting pie pumpkins, Saturday, September 27th, 10am-4pm.  Dená will be in charge of the fun, and we hope to see many of you there!!  Until then, have a great weekend, and we'll see you soon.
