|           Here's the Scoop! February 20th, 2014    The primrose, like the one pictured here, are a sure sign spring is coming. Their bright blooms are a sure pick-me-up on even the gloomiest of days.    This week more beautiful blooming pansies arrived too (just in time to freshen tired planters), another touch of spring in a pot!    For any of you who want to kill weed seeds that will be germinating in your lawn with the warmer weather, now is the time to apply pre-emerge. Be sure to water it in well after applying.    Take a look around the greenhouse if you stop in for pansies,  primroses and herbs; the flowers, foliage and succulents are amazing. Look HERE for a post on our staghorn ferns, and, while you're on the website, take a look at our Quick-Pick Veggie class March 15th. If you're interested, give us a call at 870-7542 to sign up.   With this week's warmer temperatures, it's a little easier to get out in the garden and take care of late winter tasks. Look HERE for a few things that need to be done this time of year.   Finally, if you are in need of boxwood advice , we recommend Dave Bradford, formerly of the Jefferson County Extension Service - he is a well respected authority on the subject.   Have a great weekend and we'll see you soon!
