Here's the Scoop!
September 12th, 2013
Many of you have come in recently to pick up plants to add to containers and beds that need a little late summer pick-me-up. Since we've finally gotten a taste of real summer temperatures, some of the annuals you planted early last spring are about played out, and that's okay - you probably haven't done a thing wrong, they are simply kaput!
For you folks that plant seeds, our fall seed selection is in, with lots of great varieties of veggies and flowers to choose from. Take a look HERE for tips on planting seeds.
Our growers are providing fresh flowers of zinnias, (Isn't the zinnia pictured here stunning?) marigolds, celosia, and the traditional harbingers of fall, mums, to help you greet the new season. Many shrubs can also be a great permanent addition to your planters and other areas in your landscape, and we're scheduled to receive a new shipment this week. They are grown locally just down the road in Shelby County, so they'll be perfect for your yard too!
Finally, we are well stocked now with muhly grass - this is the beautiful pink blooming grass planted en-masse at Railroad Park downtown. If you missed the post on it earlier this season, look HERE for more information on this lovely perennial for our area - then find a spot for some at your house!
Enjoy the weekend and we'll see you soon...
