Here's the Scoop!
 June 6th 2013

The market is cranking up for the summer - If you've been by, you know how good the strawberries have been. In the past few weeks we've begun to get peaches from Clanton too! There just isn't anything like our local fresh peaches on a hot summer day. Fat, juicy blackberries from Jemison made their first appearance this week as well...

The onions, okra and squash have been tasty also, though there isn't much better than the lady peas and butterbeans in our opinion...don't forget to check the cooler just inside the greenhouse for them when they're available. Oh, and the eggs!!! We have a lot in now from our suplliers in Leeds. They're all organic and really, really tasty!

One thing is for sure - the entrance into the greenhouse never looked so delicious!

We still have plenty of plants for your beds and pots too. The perennials in stock are really nice looking and there are a good many to choose from if you're looking for a little something to fill out a bed...for example, we have some muhly grass in stock now -  a perennial grass that you could easily overlook in the nursery. This beautiful grass blooms in October, and many of you may have seen it in full bloom at Railroad Park downtown.  This was the grass everyone asked about  last fall because it was so pretty massed all through the park...

Have a great weekend and we'll see you soon!
