| December graduate Christopher Thompson was honored with the UW-Platteville Alumni Association's Honorary Lifetime Pioneer Award. The Association recognizes several graduates each semester who have shown leadership in campus activities, community involvement, professional development, academic excellence, and probability of future involvement.

Blazing the trail
Early graduates reflect on the impact of their degrees
With its inception in 1978, UW-Platteville's Extended Degree Program changed the landscape of higher education, enabling students to complete degrees at a distance.
By 1982, there were several graduates, including Christine Rehfeldt, Ruth Miller, and Sharon Gisselman (pictured above). They've all followed different career paths, but they echo the same sentiment: without the program, their lives would have been very different. Read their stories here.

| In recognition of the DLC's recent milestone of 35 years of distance education, we have launched a campaign to raise $35,000 to support future generations of distance students. We're challenging new donors to contribute $35 in honor of our 35th anniversary. To learn more, click here.

The campaign will help us fund opportunities that include enhancing student services, upgrading technology, supporting scholarships, and further developing our online programs," said Dawn Drake, Executive Director of Alternative Delivery Systems. |
