Another academic year is in full swing! All of us at Academic Search send our best wishes for a productive and fulfilling year. We're pleased to announce some new faces at Academic Search. Ann Die Hasselmo has returned to the firm after seven years as the founding president of the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI). Ann was the Managing Director of Academic Search Consultation Service, the former name of Academic Search, and we're so pleased she is back with us. Ann's work in leadership development for AALI, our parent organization, has given her even more understanding of the qualities needed for successful academic leaders. Other new faces here at our firm are noted on the right. We're equally delighted that Tom Kepple, President Emeritus of Juniata College, is the new president of AALI. American Academic Leadership Institute
Academic Search is the subsidiary of the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI). AALI is a non-profit organization which works to strengthen academic leadership in all sectors of public and private higher education. On July 1, 2013, Dr. Thomas R. Kepple, Jr., President Emeritus of Juniata College, became president of AALI. Please click here to read the entire announcement. Over the next year, about 100 individuals will participate in professional development programs funded through AALI. These programs include the: Executive Leadership Academy (ELA) - a leadership development program to prepare college and university vice presidents for presidencies Senior Leadership Academy (SLA) - a leadership development program to prepare mid-level administrators for vice presidencies in independent higher education Becoming a Provost Academy (BAPA) - a leadership development program to prepare experienced academic administrators for a provost/vice president for academic affairs position in public higher education Millennium Leadership Institute (MLI) - a leadership development program that provides individuals the opportunity to develop skills, gain a philosophical overview and build the network needed to advance to the presidency |

Recent Activities of Our Team
Jessica Kozloff joined Dale Knobel, President Emeritus of Denison University, and Jack Stripling, Senior Reporter at The Chronicle of Higher Education, for a one hour discussion on "All Sides with Ann Fisher" on the topic of the changing roles of university presidents. Jessica Kozloff and Sal Rinella (Penson Associates) were co-facilitators for the AASCU Experienced Presidents Retreat held this past July in Annapolis, MD. This program allows an opportunity for facilitators with presidential and consulting experience to help other presidents and chancellors to reflect on their accomplishments and challenges, and develop a plan for addressing critical issues and opportunities in the next stages in their presidencies.
Senior Consultant Carrie Besnette Hauser recently presented at ACE's Regional Women's Leadership Forum in North Dakota.
Andrea Warren Hamos was a facilitator at ACE's Advancing to the Presidency workshop last week. Andrea also took part in workshops for AALI's opening seminars over the summer.
