St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Independence, is hosting this series on the following three dates,  June 26th, July 17th, and August 14th. This year the theme for the Summer Fun Series is Peace. The children will focus on St. Luke's being "A Peace Factory." Monthly lessons will spotlight "Peace with Me," "Peace with You," and "Peace with the World."

The adult class will be led by Pastor Paul Emily and will explore "Peace by Piece." It will focus on what it takes to make peace and how we can take our place in the "Peace Factory" by being peacemakers. The lessons will look at Serenity in June, Compassion in July, and Forgiveness in August. This study will be based in general on the Sermon on the Mount and more specifically on the Beatitudes, where Jesus said, "Blessed are the Peacemakers." We will see the benefits of our becoming more of the peacmakers Jesus called us to become-not just for others but also in our personal wellbeing. We will see the promise Jesus gives to those who become peacemakers is that they "will be called the children of God." All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
