December 1-29, Advent-Christmas Worship Series

St. John United Church of Christ, 405 S. Fifth Street, St. Charles invites you to take a spiritual journey of seeing all things expectant with the possibility of the holy.  The Advent and Christmas seasons are a time when the juxtaposition of the sacred and secular sometimes feel blurred and blatantly opposed.  What could your Advent and Christmas season experience be like if you lived it looking through the kaleidoscope of the sacred?  Please join us for "Sacred", a Sunday worship series, December 1-29, 9:00 & 10:30 a.m. service times.

It has been said that grief has its seasons, but it is also true that the seasons have their grief.  Of all the seasons when our hearts are aching with the memory of loved ones gone, the Christmas season is perhaps the hardest.  But it is possible to lift our memories up into the joy of Christmas.

That is what a "Blue Christmas" or "Service of Solace" is about.   If you have lost a loved one, or are still remembering with sorrow and yet rich memories, please come to Good Shepherd Church on Sunday,  December 15 at 5:00 pm for a "Service of Solace" which will bring the gift of our memories to the manger.
