3rd Annual Women of the Cloth Clergy Retreat

held at the Wingate by Wyndham in Maryland Heights, MO. The Rev. Barbara Essex, Minister for Higher and Theological Education at the national setting of the UCC, will be returning as the facilitator of this year's retreat!

Emmanuel UCC 6th Annual White Elephant Auction 

6210 Highway 94 South, Weldon Spring, MO
Doors are open to the public at 10:00 am with the auction beginning at 10:30 am. One quilt will also be raffled off during the event. A light lunch will be available for purchase.  Proceeds from the auction are given to needy children and families through Global ministries as well as Emmanuel's Weekend Backpack program benefiting needy children in St. Charles County area. Admission to the auction is free .

An appraiser of antiques will entertain and appraise items that you think have no value or some value. Things to bring to the tea: china and collectible items, paintings, dolls, or anything that you want to be appraised. Everyone has something to be appraised.  So, look in those closets and in those boxes and bring something unique to St. Philips United Church of Christ.

 

This is a fund raising event for Joint Neighborhood Ministry.  All are invited  It's a wonderful thing to do with family and friends.

Western Association Annual Business Meeting, April 20 

The Western Association Annual Business Meeting will be held on Saturday, April 20, from 10am to 3pm at Ivanhoe United Church of Christ, 6512 Woodson Road, in Raytown, Missouri.  The featured speaker for the day will be the Rev. Dr. John H. Thomas, former General Minister and President of the United Church of Christ.  Dr. Thomas will speak and preach on building covenant relationships, and we will receive a new church, Peace Christian Church UCC/DOC into membership in the Western Association.  More information will be forthcoming, but please place that Saturday date on your calendars and we look forward to seeing you in Raytown.

Spring Organ Concert - Sunday, April 21st, 4pm 

Tim Clark will provide a spring organ concert at Church of The Master, featuring celebrated music from favorite movies and theater productions.  Punch and cookies will be served during the concert intermission.  Tim's annual fall concerts have been well-received, and this spring concert is a great way to feature Tim's talent and exhibit the capabilities of our versatile Rogers organ.  This summer, Tim will, again, be attending the UCC Music Association annual summer workshop, an opportunity for him to continue to develop his performance and directing skills.  Any free-will offering collected at the spring concert will offset his conference expenses, an investment in Tim's professional development.

Brian McLaren Celebrates Columbia UCC's 90th Anniversary

Brian McLaren, nationally known speaker and author and one of
Time magazine's 25 most influential evangelicals in America, will be at Columbia UCC to celebrate our 90th anniversary!  McLaren will speak on themes from his latest book, Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha, and Mohammed Cross the Road?  The event takes place in our worship space at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 5, and is presented to the community free of charge.
