"Groovin' into Spring," a free benefit concert for Epiphany UCC

2911 McNair, St. Louis, 7-8:30 p.m. by the Pete Ruthenburg Trio, playing jazz, R & B, funk and pop. A freewill offering will be collected. 

Before and after the concert, you are invited to enjoy refreshments, raffle prizes and ecological exhibits prepared by youth groups with advocacy tables.

Eastern Association Annual Quilt Show

Zion United Church of Christ

115 So. Washington Street in Union

  

Registration is at 9:30 with Welcome at 10:15. Program will be provided by Nellie Mueller on "My Mother Never Told Me" providing a look at the changing role of women in the last 75 years. This humorous presentation is based on women who sew and universal issues. You will never look at progress the same. Nellie is a teacher and lecturer form Pacific, MO who emphasizes the rewards and joys of "Practical Quilt Making". There will also be a musical presentation by the Men of Zion.

  

Bring a quilt for displaying that day and a snack to be shared for lunch. Please call Vickie Johanpeter 636-584-0882 or email vsj0889@sbcglobal.net and let her know how many quilts you will be bringing and how many from your church will be attending. Information you will need to attach to your quilt put on display: Name of exhibitor, phone, email, quilt maker's name, date of quilt, size and pattern and additional history you would like to share.

  

Come join us even if you are not a quilter but want to enjoy seeing history in the form of stitched works of art and love.

6210 Highway 94 South, Weldon Spring, MO
Doors are open to the public at 10:00 am with the auction beginning at 10:30 am. One quilt will also be raffled off during the event. A light lunch will be available for purchase.  Proceeds from the auction are given to needy children and families through Global ministries as well as Emmanuel's Weekend Backpack program benefiting needy children in St. Charles County area. Admission to the auction is free .

Brian McLaren Celebrates Columbia UCC's 90th Anniversary

Brian McLaren, nationally known speaker and author and one of
Time magazine's 25 most influential evangelicals in America, will be at Columbia UCC to celebrate our 90th anniversary!  McLaren will speak on themes from his latest book, Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha, and Mohammed Cross the Road?  The event takes place in our worship space at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 5, and is presented to the community free of charge.
