MMSUCC Events as of December 14, 2012

Bethany and St. John's UCC, Berger, are participating in the Kurt Warner Winter Warm-Up coat collection again this year.  New and used coats of all sizes are needed to fill the boxes placed in each church. These coats will be distributed in Franklin and Gasconade counties through food pantries and other agencies.  For more information, call 573-834-5496.

St. Martin's UCC Dittmer, Holiday services
Advent Services Sun, Dec 2 - Sun, Dec 23 with Walk to the Manger. A time to make donations of canned goods, boxed meals, hats, gloves, etc. to be donated to area charities.   

 

Chancel Choir Christmas Cantata "Behold the Star!" - Sun, Dec 16th @ 9:45am

 

Christmas Eve Worship - 5:00 pm Family Worship and 11:00 pm Candlelight Worship both with Holy Communion

 

Healing Prayer Service - Sun, Dec 30th @ 9:45 am

Community Festival of Trees, St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 20 E. Fifth Street, Washington MO

The annual Community Festival of Trees is a display of 40+ beautiful and uniquely decorated Christmas trees. Come and see the splendor every weekend in December through Christmas Day at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 20 E. Fifth Street, Washington MO.  Admission is free however canned goods for the St. Peter's and local food pantries are appreciated.   Place the items under a favorite tree.  Special weekday group tours are by appointment. (Special thanks to the Four Rivers YMCA for creating this post and whose colorful "Toiletree" also receives personal hygiene items also for the pantries.)  Come show your support for these wonderful causes and celebrate the holiday spirit in this highly enjoyable and meaningful way.

   A Festival of Lessons and Carols,
Sunday, December 16 - 7:00 p.m.

Zion United Church of Christ located at 115 S. Washington Avenue in Union will present A Festival of Lessons and Carols by the Chancel Choir under the direction of Dr. Timothy C. Sexton, Director of Choirs.

St. John UCC's 4th Annual Christmas Cantata & Tasting Party December 15 & 16 @ 7pm


St. John's 4th Annual Christmas Cantata is based on a traditional lessons and carols service, Joseph Martin's A Celebration of Carols is filled to overflowing with beloved carols and original seasonal songs. This cantata tells the story of Christ's birth adorned with beautiful arrangements and meaningful Scriptures. Join the St. John Chancel Choir, orchestra, and soloists as we usher in the light of the world. After the performance, all are welcome to experience good food and great fellowship at the Tasting Party immediately following in new fellowship hall. This event is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken.

Bethany United Church of Christ, Hwy. Z near Berger, will hold a Christmas Carol Service on Sunday, December 23, at 8:45 A.M.  The Christmas Story will be read and traditional Christmas music will be sung accompanied by the 1904 Kilgen pipe organ.  Everyone is welcome!

Bethany UCC will worship onTuesday, December 25, with a Communion Service at 8:45.  Come and start Christmas Day by sharing the Lord's Supper.

The Eastern Association Program Committee will be sponsoring the Annual Quilt show this year on April 13th, 2013.   Zion UCC in Union has offered to be the host.  Plan on bringing your quilt  or your treasured grandmothers creation to display.  Enjoy finger foods and fellowship with quilters for all over the area. Guest speaker and times to be announced later.  Watch here and in your mail for a flyer on the upcoming event.
