Living Gift Market at Immanuels UCC in Holstein
Do you need some ideas for Christmas gifts?
Would you like to give gifts that honor Christ's birth this Christmas?
What do you give the person who has everything?
Then come to the Living Gift Market at Immanuels United Church of Christ in Holstein on Sunday, November 25! At a Living Gift Market, we will be "selling" animals like pigs, sheep, chicks, and goats as an alternative to commercial gifts. You can also buy a share of an animal. The animals you buy are given to families around the world through Heifer International, where they provide meat, milk, and income, and you get a beautiful card to give. Learn more at www.heifer.org.
Since 1944, Heifer has provided food- and income-producing animals to 12.5 million poor families in more than 125 countries. Along with training, Heifer International provides a female animal or starter flock to each family and one or more male animals to the community for breeding purposes. The family shares its knowledge and the animal's first offspring with another family. And that family shares. This strategy creates an endless circle of giving that makes lasting change possible.
Seeds of Blessing will also be part of the Living Gift Market, selling artisan baskets from around the world that reduce poverty, empower women, and educate children. Visit www.seedsofblessing.com for more information.
The Living Gift Market will be open following 10am worship on Sunday, November 25, from 11am-2pm. Lunch will be served. To learn more, call Immanuels UCC at 932-4646.
Immanuels UCC is located between Warrenton and Washington, off of Hwy N. Take Hwy N west about four miles; turn left on Church Street after passing the church cemetery.
