MMSUCC Events as of November 14, 2012

Bethany and St. John's UCC, Berger, are participating in the Kurt Warner Winter Warm-Up coat collection again this year.  New and used coats of all sizes are needed to fill the boxes placed in each church. These coats will be distributed in Franklin and Gasconade counties through food pantries and other agencies.  For more information, call 573-834-5496.

St. Paul UCC, Turkey Dinner, November 17, 2012, 4-7pm

St. Paul UCC, 903 Meier Rd., Old Monroe, MO. All you can eat turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, candied yams, green beans, fried apples and desserts. Adults $8.50; Children (5-12) $4.50; Children under 5 - Free. Carry outs are available.

Community Thanksgiving Service November 18 at St. Paul's UCC Defiance, 5pm  A community Thanksgiving dinner followed by worship. 
All are welcome. St. Paul's Defiance is located at 150 Defiance Rd. Defiance, MO 63341.

Thanksgiving worship service at St. Thomas UCC, 17842 Wild Horse Creek Rd., Chesterfield, MO  63005 on Nov. 20 at 7:30pm. Rev. Dr. Marc Wessels will preach and members & clergy from St. Thomas, Ivy Chapel & St. John's, Chesterfield will participate. Refreshments will be served afterward.

Good Shepherd United Church of Christ Annual St. Charles Community Thanksgiving service, Tuesday evening, November 20th at 7:00 o'clock. The service, to be followed by conversation and refreshments in the church fellowship hall, will be observed in the sanctuary of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 3115 Elm Street, St. Charles. The service will include a joint choir, which will rehearse at the church at 6:00 pm. The community is invited. The offering will be given to the St. Charles County branch of Operation Food Search.

 

The Thanksgiving service will include the reading of the Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamation, a sermon, "True Thanksgiving," by Dr. David Beebe, Interim Pastor of the church, as well as scripture, anthems, congregational music, and litanies of thanksgiving.

 

As of this date, participating churches and institutions include First United Methodist Church, Friedens United Church of Christ, Lindenwood University, St. Charles Presbyterian Church, St. Cletus Catholic Church, St. John United Christ, St. Cletus Catholic Church, Faith United Methodist Church and the host congregation.

Friedens Peace United Church of Christ in New Melle Annual Cookie and Candy Sale, Sunday, December 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church   

 

Homemade Cookies & Candy And Now - CINNAMON ROLLS

As always, we will have an amazing assortment of homemade cookies to be sold by the pound, including our decorated sugar cookies, just in time for your Christmas entertaining. 

  

This year we will have a new addition; cinnamon rolls.  We will be taking orders for homemade cinnamon rolls, which will be frozen when you pick them up, ready to thaw and bake for Christmas morning or New Years day, or anytime you want something yummy for breakfast.  Place your order the day of the sale, or after that date call the church office at 636-828-5980 or Sharon Wolf 398-5290, leaving your name, phone number and how many dozen you want. Orders will be taken no later than Wednesday, December 12.   At only $9.00 a dozen, you'll want several to have on hand.  Pick up will be at the church Wednesday, December 19, from 5-7 p.m. or Thursday, December 20, from 1-3 p.m.

St. John UCC's 4th Annual Christmas Cantata & Tasting Party December 15 & 16 @ 7pm


St. John's 4th Annual Christmas Cantata is based on a traditional lessons and carols service, Joseph Martin's A Celebration of Carols is filled to overflowing with beloved carols and original seasonal songs. This cantata tells the story of Christ's birth adorned with beautiful arrangements and meaningful Scriptures. Join the St. John Chancel Choir, orchestra, and soloists as we usher in the light of the world. After the performance, all are welcome to experience good food and great fellowship at the Tasting Party immediately following in new fellowship hall. This event is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken.

The Eastern Association Program Committee will be sponsoring the Annual Quilt show this year on April 13th, 2013.   Zion UCC in Union has offered to be the host.  Plan on bringing your quilt  or your treasured grandmothers creation to display.  Enjoy finger foods and fellowship with quilters for all over the area.
