State of the Program

crawling-hallway-baby.jpgHappy New Year! We hope you had a safe, fun holiday. We are happy to report that AAI's first placement of 2014 is in the foster/adopt program! One of our foster families accepted the placement of a 7 year old boy earlier this month.

As always, we're here to address any concerns or answer any questions you may have, so please feel free to give Yvette, Gay, or Kathy a call or send an email if you would like an update on your case or if anything comes up!

Sincerely,

AAI Foster/Adopt Staff

Refresh Conference 2014

The 3rd Annual Refresh Conference is for foster and adoptive families - those folks who need a boost of encouragement, support, rejuvenation, friendship, networking, etc! Nationally renowned speakers - many of whom are adoptive parents themselves - will be in attendance to provide you with expert advice, guidance, and support. The conference can also give you an early start on your 2014 training credits!

The conference will be held on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 in Redmond, WA. Online registration is now open! Register before February 1 and pay only $45/person for the entire two-day conference (after February 1, $60/person)! For more information, including a complete list of scheduled speakers, workshops, directions, and accommodations, visit the Refresh Conference website.

Piles of Paperwork
AAI will be going through agency relicensing in the next few months, an arduous process we are required to go through every three years. We will be looking through all of our family files to be sure all items are up to date such as CPR/First Aid, driver's license, car insurance, training, etc. If anything in your file is missing or expired, Yvette will let you know what items are needed. We ask that you get the items to us as quickly as possible so that relicensing can go smoothly!

Background checks are required for children in foster homes when they reach the age of 16. We check our files periodically to track the ages of your children so we can get the clearance process going, but sometimes we miss one. If there is a child in your home who will be 16 in the next few months, please let Yvette know so she can send you the forms to get the background check started. The FBI fingerprint check is not required for those under 18.
