Several Children Waiting for Families

Dear Friends,

I wanted to take a little time to note that we have some wonderful waiting children that need homes. These children are a little older or have special needs and/or are HIV+.

While they may not be the right fit for your family (or maybe they are, just let me tell you more about them), perhaps you know someone who would be the right parents for these children. I am going to list them here, just a few sentences and pictures to let you know who they are. Please feel free to share them with others if you feel they may be open to any of these special children. Just a reminder: although a child is HIV+, most are well treated with medication and have no symptoms of the illness.

Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like more information on any of these wonderful children!

Best wishes,

Meet the Kids!

Beza is 7 or 8 years old. She is HIV+ and Hep B+. Her father died of malaria and her mother gave her up for adoption because she lacks the income to care for her. Beza is active and playful and has high ambitions. She hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. A caring family can help her make that wish come true.

Teodros is 14 months old and has craniosynostosis, visual problems, undescended testes, and developmental delays. He was abandoned when he was 7 days old. Although Teodros comes with many medical issues, he is an adorable baby. But don't take my word for it; ask to see the videos of him I have on Dropbox! He could do very well with good medical care and a loving family.

Haile is 11 years old and is HIV+. Both of his parents have passed away from HIV/AIDS and he lived with his aunt until she could no longer afford his care. Haile is a third grader and is in the top three in his class. He also has hopes of being a doctor someday. He loves playing football and hide and seek. This is a bright child who would do well with a loving family.

Sincey is 4-5 years old and has hypothyroidism and some developmental delays. His mother is no longer living and Sincey lived with his father until he was relinquished to the orphanage. Since beginning treatment for the hypothyroidism, he has become much more playful and has more energy. He understands simple commands, but does not speak much and it is not known if this is all developmental or partly due to living where the language is different than where he is from.

Samrawit is around 3.5 years old. She has developmental delays and microcephaly. She was abandoned by her mother at a house she was visiting about two years ago. Samrawit is very cheerful and engaging, but does not say many words and has jerky movements and does not grasp well. She would do well with a family who could give her the love and care to help her achieve her best outcomes.

Yeabsira is 11 years old and is HIV+. His mother passed away from HIV/AIDS and his father's whereabouts are unknown. He is a little shy, but enjoys football and playing on the swings. He is a good friend of Haile who is mentioned above. He is a follower more than a leader and is well mannered. Yeabsira would be a great addition to a family who can offer him a loving home.

Yibetal is 4 years old and has cerebral palsy. He also seems to display some features of autism. He was one of a set of triplets, and was abandoned at 10 days old because he was sick. He enjoys playing with objects, particularly cell phones. Although he does not interact much with the other children, he is gentle with them. Yibetal would do well with a family who was committed to caring for him and helping him learn.

Abayneh is 8 years old and is HIV+. His mother passed away five years ago and he lived with a nun at the church where his mother was buried until he was given to the orphanage for adoption. His father is unknown. Abayneh loves football and playing with dogs and with dolls. He plays well with older and younger children. He would love a family to make a new home with.

Melesech is 12-13 years old and is HIV+. Her parents have both passed away due to HIV/AIDS. She is mature for her age and enjoys taking care of younger children. Melesech does very well in school and is in the top five in her class and has a good vocabulary. She is a leader and finishes chores well. She would benefit from a loving family to help her achieve her full potential.
